everyone says 'smart casual' but i've watched doors turn away guys in nice jordans. what's the real deal on king west and yorkville rn, are clean white sneakers a yes or am i risking getting bounced

depends on the door and how the rest of the fit reads honestly. clean minimal sneakers and a decent jacket, most king west spots are fine. chunky runners, you're gambling

yeah a white leather low top reads totally different from a running shoe. door staff clock it instantly

yorkville's stricter, i'd just wear real shoes there to be safe. king west you've got way more room. and if you're on a table/list they wave through way more than a walk in

being on a list buys you a lot of dress code forgiveness ngl. walk ins get judged the hardest

rule of thumb, dress for the group photo not for comfort. if you'd feel underdressed in the pics the door thinks so too
