WAYWARD OVERVIEW
Wayward is a small hip-hop club located on Queen Street West and is characterized by its unique and mysterious decorum.The first thing you will notice at Wayward is its artistic regal meets street decor. The venue is adorned with large paintings in golden frames on wooden walls like you would find in Mansion built in the 1940s. However, the street aspect of the venue is the spray paint over the paintings, to make this venue fit its location (located on Queen St.) The venue is mid-sized, with a rectangular dance floor surrounded by plush leather booths and either side and an elevated bar area at the front.
WAYWARD CLUB REVIEW
Entering Wayward you will first notice a more of an upscale vibe from the typical Queen Street West Vibes. Wayward is one of our favourite spots on Queen Street because it plays good music, usually has a really great crowd, and the atmosphere is very interesting. While we don’t think this niche club will appeal to everyone, especially the Queen Street demographic, we’re big fans of the venue because it never disappoints. The size of the club in this case actually does itself a favour because it doesn’t need a large volume of people to get filled up. We’ve found that most of this club’s patrons are young professionals, and the majority of the time there are large groups of people who are celebrating a birthday at each booth. With that said the crowd is very cliquey considering they’re here to party with friends. This isn’t the ideal place to meet new people. We believe people come to Wayward because they want to celebrate a party without going to one of the busy mainstream clubs on King West, but still want to go to a place that has a classy, chic, and upscale vibe. As for the music that’s played at Wayward, we’re a big fan of the mixes spun here by the DJ. Rather than just throwing on Urban Top 40, you can tell there is careful thought and consideration put into the playlist at this venue, which further contributes to its vibe. The best way we can describe this venue is that it’s almost like Queen Street West’s very own mix of Wildflower and EFS. Overall, this is one of our favourite venues in the city for celebrating a low-key birthday party and we’d highly recommend it if you’re into hip-hop clubs.

WAYWARD GENERAL INFORMATION
Wayward is located on the top floor of a commercial building on Queen West and has a capacity of around 200 people since it’s a relatively small venue. Although capacity isn’t overly high, Wayward doesn’t usually get shoulder to shoulder packed. With that said, it does tend to get busy, though most of the time you’ll see the majority of people in booths and a good amount of people on the central shared dance floor and in front of the bar. Either way, we suggest going to Wayward early in case a line does form outside so you can get stamped and either stay until it gets busy or simply leave and come back later in the night after it’s popped off. If you can’t make it to the venue early, we recommend lining up no later than 11:00 so you can avoid the line. Wayward has several booths that line the walls, and high tops located near the main bar. Washrooms are located to the right of the main bar, or straight ahead if you’re walking in from the cashier. Wayward also offers coatcheck for about $3-5 during the colder seasons of the year, and the smoking area is located out front, so be sure to get stamped. Mixed drinks start at $9-14+, beer is $9-10+, and liquor shots are $9-10+. Again this is the type of hip-hop club that is best enjoyed with a booth and bottle service.
WAYWARD LOCATION
Wayward is located in the West end of Toronto’s Core in the trendy and eclectic West Queen West neighbourhood. It’s located in the area between Liberty Village and Trinity Bellwoods. The venue isn’t the easiest to spot, but if you look for the door staff out front to the right of the large red doors that’s where the entrance is. Wayward is located on top of “”The Good Son”” restaurant, so also look out for that sign which sticks out of the dark grey building.
WAYWARD AGE LIMIT
You must be 19+ to enter Wayward on a normal club night, no exceptions are made.
WAYWARD DRESS CODE
The dress code is upscale, classy and chic, and as long as you are dressed nicely, there shouldn’t be any problems getting in. Bags are not allowed, however women are allowed to bring in purses. Men are not allowed to dress in sportswear, boots, sneakers, wear hats, or bring sidebags.
THE MUSIC AT WAYWARD
Wayward Toronto plays a really good mix of Hip-Hop, Rap, and Trap, and is arguably the best Hip-Hop club on Queen West.
WAYWARD COVER CHARGE
Cover charge for Wayward is typically $20, while ladies can get free entry to the club before 11:30PM with guestlist.
WAYWARD GUESTLIST GUIDE
We suggest you sign up for Wayward’s guestlist ahead of time to ensure you’re able to get into the club. Since cover charge still applies regardless of guestlist past 11:30PM for ladies, we suggest you to aim to arrive for 11:10PM at the absolute latest, since sometimes a line will start to form as early as 10:45PM. Once you arrive at the club simply tell the door person what guestlist you’re under, check-in, get stamped, and head in to start your night.

Bottle prices typically range from $190 – $350 on average for mid-range liquor bottles, and higher-end bottles are available which will cost upwards of $600+ a bottle.
