Whether you’re looking to sip on fancy cocktails at a boujee rooftop patio or down some craft  beers at a casual patio bar, we’ve got you covered. The fact is, after intermittent lockdowns and a long winter everyone is itching to go out and have a somewhat normal summer night in Toronto, and guess what? We don’t blame you. Most people would do anything to have things go back to normal. That being said we have to start with a disclaimer.

Disclaimer: Top Toronto Clubs does not advocate breaking local laws or regulations. Please refer to the Local, Provincial and Federal Government’s COVID-19 guidelines before going out to the club.

With that out of the way, you’re probably wondering, what clubs bars and outdoor patios are even open? Since a lot of this is subject to regulation and COVID-19 infection rates, no indoor clubs are currently open which is why we’re going to solely focus on our top 5 patio spots for drinks in Toronto this year.

1. Petty Cash

487 Adelaide St W, Toronto, ON M5V 1T4

Petty Cash, one of King West’s best pre-drink spots, and if you decide the spend the night, a solid outdoor bar and patio venue with a very casual vibe. We would consider Petty Cash one of the most popular bars in Toronto due to the fact that it’s always busy, and in our experience it’s got a very laid back, fun atmosphere with Top 40 playing in the background that is appealing to a wide range of crowds. With cheap cocktails, beer, and $1 wine (by the OZ) you can’t really go wrong with this spot.

2. Regulars Bar

668 King St W, Toronto, ON M5V 1M7

Regulars Bar makes number two on our list. Although this is one of King St West’s more recent additions to the bar/club scene in the city, it’s quickly taken it’s spot as one of our favourite summer spots in the city. As a hybrid of bar and club mixed into one, Regulars Bar offers up a nice patio all around the perimeter of the venue that sits right at the corner of King St West and Bathurst.

Since this isn’t your typical patio bar spot, expect to pay a bit more for cocktails, beer, and champagne. Think of Regulars like a boujee Toronto bar, where it’s worth paying a small premium for an overall classier vibe. It’s a bar with bottle service, and if you ask us that sounds like a good time.

3. Lavelle

627 King St W, Toronto, ON M5V 1M5

At number three we have Lavelle, our favourite all round luxury rooftop spot. This is the venue you go to when you’re looking for the classiest and most upscale venue at night to spend your night or celebrate a birthday. Located at the top of 627 King St West as a restaurant in the evening and a ritzy club by night this is one of our top picks for getting bottle service and enjoying a mix of Lounge House and Hip-Hop/R&B.

Lavelle typically attracts a mix of a mature and young professional crowd and with a massive 16,000 square foot roof top with several large cabana style booths, an outdoor patio bar, and a stunning view of King West from above, it’s worth every penny.

4. Amsterdam BrewHouse (On The Lake)

245 Queens Quay W, Toronto, ON M5J 2K9

At number four we have Amsterdam BrewHouse. This isn’t the typical fashion district pick we’d recommend but with an amazing view of the lake from the outdoor patio area this is a spot you have to go to at least once this summer. Being a brewhouse expect a nice range of house beers on tap as well as a mix of very reasonably priced appetizers, cocktail drinks, and wine considering the location.

The Amsterdam BrewHouse offers great value for it’s drinks, chill vibe and breathtaking view of Lake Ontario. This 14,000 square foot venue is one of our favourite day-time picks with it’s top tier service and location being right in the core beside the CN Tower, Roger Center, Ripley’s Aquarium, and Scotiabank Arena.

5. The Porch

250 Adelaide St W, Toronto, ON M5H 1X6

Last but not least on our list is The Porch. If you’re not familiar with this spot, it’s well known in Toronto as the spot you hit on a Saturday during the day before going out on the town at night.  If you’re looking for a day-time brunch spot to enjoy mimosas in the heart of the city, look no further.

Located on the rooftop of Rockin’ Horse and Dublin Calling, this chill patio and bar spot is a nice place to go out and enjoy the beautiful weather, soak up the sun, and enjoy margaritas or an ice cold beer. The Porch isn’t only open in the day mind you, so if you’re looking for a fun night time spot to hit up with friends for a casual night out this is a great pick for that too!
