Cube is a big room on Queen West near Chinatown: a wide dance floor, a glowing LED wall, and hip-hop, R&B and Top 40 till 2am. The crowd skews young and the dress code is easy. Here's the honest rundown.
The honest reviewCube is on Queen West at 314 Queen St W (M5V 2A2), about a block east of Spadina, right near Chinatown. It sits north-east of the main King West strip, a 5 to 10 minute ride away. One thing to know: it's a little off the strip, so club-hopping on foot isn't really the move here.
Capacity runs about 350 to 450, so this is a large venue. One main floor, a big open dance floor, a stage, a long main bar, and large VIP booths with couches. There are smaller booths along the floor and more private ones in the back near the washrooms. The LED wall behind the floor is the signature, it lights the whole room.
The crowd skews young, college and uni age, with a mix of people up to around 30. It's diverse and dressed casual. Cube doesn't aim at one scene, which is its blessing and its catch: easy to get into, but it doesn't have a single signature crowd.
Cube's DJs run Top 40 with hip-hop, rap, R&B and throwbacks, plus the odd EDM remix. It's a vocal, hands-up floor. Every weekend plays a little different, but the sound is built to keep a big room moving.
The dress code is easy here. Casual or streetwear is fine, and you can dress up if you want. Just look put together. Bags aren't allowed, but women can bring a purse.
Strict 19+. Ontario drinking age, no exceptions, so bring real ID.
