FICTION CLUB REVIEW
Fiction is a venue that serves a very specific crowd. Like most clubs in the Entertainment district area, these are venues that are strictly for a younger university student crowd, and is also regularly used as a venue for prom after parties. If you’re a first year university student this is a great first club to hit to get a taste of what clubbing is like in Toronto before hitting some of Toronto’s more mature clubs. Having been to this venue when we were younger, it was definitely a good place to experience the clubbing scene and this club really serves its purpose for the younger generation, but it’s not a place people regularly go to even though it is quite a popular venue. While the club environment isn’t bad, the true downfall for this venue is it’s music and tipsy, young, rowdy crowd. With that said if you’re part of this demographic you may very well enjoy it for what it has to offer, but this really isn’t a club meant for anyone older than 21 years of age. The one redeeming factor is that this club is a good overall size, and can handle a wide range and demographic of people yet still turn up pretty consistently. Also, booth and bottles are very inexpensive making this club accessible to the younger crowd who may not have the big budget that places like King Street demand. At the end of the day, if you’ve just turned 19 and are looking to party in Toronto we would say this is a good place to get your feet wet in the clubbing scene, but any older than that and you probably won’t enjoy yourself much.

FICTION GENERAL INFORMATION
Fiction is a large club with an approximate capacity of 500-600 people if the basement floor is open. Upon walking into Fiction you’ll notice one large bar located at the back which serves the main dancefloor area, and elevated area where all of the booths are located, and a smaller bar that serves that section of the main floor. Additionally there is a large raised DJ booth at the back of the main dancefloor too. Fiction also has 2 sets of stairs that lead downstairs, one near the cashier / entrance (which also leads to the large bathrooms located downstairs), and a set of stairs in between the end of the main bar and the DJ booth. Fiction offers coat-check for about $4 during the colder months of the year. Cocktail drinks range from $8-$10+, beer is $6-8+, and liquor shots range from $9-10+.
FICTION LOCATION
Fiction is located on Pearl Street in the Entertainment District which is a part of Toronto’s downtown core. Since Fiction is one of the few remaining clubs on pearl street, it’s not super difficult to find. Simply look for the building with the large black canopies and white handwriting on the windows.
FICTION AGE LIMIT
You must be 19+ to enter Fiction Toronto on a normal club night, no exceptions are made.
FICTION DRESS CODE
The dress code is generally classy, meaning men must wear dressy shoes, and girls should dress up as well. No sportswear, hats, boots, sneakers, or bags allowed, however women are allowed to bring in purses.
THE MUSIC AT FICTION
Fiction usually plays a mix of Top 40 hits, EDM, Latin, and Hip-Hop / Rap, but again the mixes at Fiction are not it’s strong point.
FICTION COVER CHARGE
Cover charge for FICTION is typically $20, while ladies can get free entry to the club before 11:30PM with guestlist.
FICTION GUESTLIST GUIDE
We suggest you sign up for Fiction’s guestlist ahead of time to ensure you’re able to get into the club. Since cover charge still applies regardless of guestlist past 11:00PM for ladies, we suggest you to aim to arrive for 10:50PM at the absolute latest, since sometimes a line will start to form as early as 10:45PM. Once you arrive at the club simply tell the door person what guestlist you’re under, check-in, get stamped, and head in to start your night.
FICTION BOOTH AND BOTTLE SERVICE
Bottle prices typically range from $170 – $220 on average for mid range liquor bottles, higher end bottles are available which will cost upwards of $450+ a bottle. Minimums for booths range from $350 for a small booth all the way up to $700 for a large booth in the main room.
