Ultraviolet is a small-to-medium sized hip-hop club located on Queen Street West in the “West Queen West” neighbourhood of Toronto and is known for being one of Queen West’s best hip-hop clubs.

Ultraviolet has a dark nightclub vibe with flashy lights very similar to 44 Toronto, and has a main bar, a large dancefloor in front of the DJ booth, and several booths surrounding it.

Ultraviolet is a venue that is located on the second floor of 1096 Queen St West, which is in the same building as the restaurant called The Good Son. Ultraviolet has a decent capacity of about 250-350 patrons, and is a good late night venue if you’re looking for an upscale hip-hop club in the area.

Ultraviolet is actually quite popular for a club on Queen West which usually struggles to attract a crowd as big as many of the major clubs on King West, making it a good choice if you’re looking for something that isn’t potentially dead for the night. That being said, Ultraviolet tends to pop off and get busy much later in the night than most venues, especially during the winter months. Typically we’ll see Ultraviolet really get busy as late as 1:00AM, but again it depends on the night.

This club really caters to a mix of young professionals and professionals ranging from the ages of 21-29, and typically plays a mix of Hip-Hop, Rap, R&B, and Trap on any given night.

The main attraction in our opinion for this club is it’s sleek and dark atmosphere with it’s UV lights (hence the name Ultraviolet). This is something that is definitely unique to a lot of the venues on Queen West, with most other places being bars or restolounges. Ultraviolet brings an authentic clubbing experience it Queen West that it hasn’t really had in years.

Overall, we consider Ultraviolet a very good pick for a venue to go to on Queen West for a night out with your friends, or for birthday party event. However, we highly recommend getting a booth and bottle service for this club as that is where the value really is in this club.

∙ A nice dark club atmosphere

∙ Solid mix of hip-hop, trap and rap

∙ An authentic hip-hop club experience

∙ Doesn’t get busy until later in the night

∙ Best enjoyed with a booth and bottle service.

∙ Show up earlier than 12:00 AM to avoid waiting in line, especially in the summer

∙ Ladies are free before 11:00 PM

The capacity of Ultraviolet is approximately 250-350 people and is considered a mid-sized club by King West club standards. Coat check is available at this venue for $5. Drink prices start at $12, ranging up to $16+ for cocktails, $12+ for mixed drinks, $10+ for beer, and $8-10 for shots. With the venue being as small as it is only has one bar, dancefloor, a DJ booth, and bathrooms located at the back.

Ultraviolet is located on Queen Street West, about two blocks east of The Drake Hotel, Ultraviolet is on the second floor of the 1096 Queen West building, above The Good Son restaurant.

You must be 19+ to enter Ultraviolet on a normal club night, no exceptions are made.

The dress code at Ultraviolet is pretty upscale so be sure to dress classy. As long as you are dressed nicely, you shouldn’t have any problems getting in. Bags are not allowed, however women are allowed to bring in purses. Men are not allowed to dress in sportswear, sneakers (unless they’re designer), baggy clothing, or boots. No hats, and no bringing side-bags into the venue.

The music at Ultraviolet is a really great mix of both hip-hop, rap, and trap. The DJs who spin at Ultraviolet are some of the best in the city if you’re looking for a proper hip-hop club experience.

Cover charge for Ultraviolet is $20 for guys, but ladies can get into the club for free before 11:00 PM, or if you dined at Ultraviolet earlier in the night you can stay and enjoy the club without paying for cover charge.

We suggest you sign up for Ultraviolet’s guestlist ahead of time to ensure you’re able to get into the club. Since cover charge still applies regardless of guestlist past 11:00 PM for ladies, we suggest you aim to arrive before 11:00PM at the absolute latest, since on busier nights a line will form as early as 10:30PM. Once you arrive at the club simply tell the door person what guestlist you’re under, check-in, get stamped, and enjoy your night at one of Queen’s best nightclubs.
