Top Toronto Clubs is an independent nightlife and free guestlist service that has been out in this city every weekend since 2018. No paid placements, no pay-to-play, no photos of empty clubs pretending to be packed.

Most nightlife sites are written by people who have never stood in the line they are telling you to stand in. They copy a press release, slap on a stock photo, and call it a guide. That is not us. We started Top Toronto Clubs in 2018 because we were tired of showing up to a so-called best club and finding a half-empty room with a flat crowd and a cover charge for the privilege.

So we built the thing we wanted. A site run by people who are on the floors, in the lines, and on the lists most nights of the week. Everything here comes from being in the room. If a spot is on our list, somebody on this team has been there recently and watched how it actually plays out when it fills up.

The method

How we make these lists

We rank on what a room feels like when it is full. Not on who has the biggest marketing budget, not on who slid into our inbox, not on who has the slickest website. The questions we ask are simple and they are the same ones you are asking. Is the crowd right. Is the music actually good or just loud. How is the door. Is the staff cool or are they running you around. Does the energy hold past 1am or does it die. We answer those by being there, over and over, across seasons, because a club that is electric in July can be dead in February and you deserve to know which one you are walking into.

No catch

No pay-to-play, ever

This is the part that matters most, so we will say it plainly. Nobody buys their way onto our rankings. There are no paid placements, no sponsored top spots dressed up as honest picks, and no deals that quietly move a club up the page. When a venue falls off, it drops. When a club closes, we say so out loud and point you somewhere better instead of leaving you to drive across the city to a locked door. We would rather lose a club from the list than lose your trust, because the trust is the only thing that makes any of this worth reading.

Closures, rebrands, owners changing, neighbourhoods turning over. Being here through all of it is the whole point. It is the difference between a list that reflects the city as it is right now and a list that is two years stale. We keep showing up so that what you read here keeps being true. One honest note before you go. We are a party-planning and guestlist service, not a venue. We do not own or run any club, bar, or room. We help you get into them and make the night easier once you are there.
