Get Well is the Dundas West bar-arcade that's been holding it down for over a decade: thirteen rotating taps, a wall of vintage arcade games and pinball, and a pizza booth right inside. No cover, no list, no fuss. You just walk in and play.

What it's actually like

Get Well has been a Dundas West fixture for eleven years, and it earns it. The whole place runs on a retro arcade theme, so the room glows with cabinet screens and the back wall of pinball blinks while the taps pour. It's casual and a little dark in the best way, the kind of spot that works for a quiet weekday pint and a few rounds of Galaga, or a loud weekend where the floor packs out after 9.

This is a bar first, not a club. No cover, no bottle service, no velvet rope. You come for cold beer, fresh pizza and games you actually grew up on. Bring quarters, bring friends, and don't be surprised if you lose an hour to Donkey Kong.

You'll find Get Well at 1181 Dundas St W (M6H 1Y3), on the south side of Dundas Street, just west of Ossington. Central, easy to reach, and right in the thick of the Dundas West strip.

The room

It's spacious and inviting, with a mix of bar stools, tables and lounge seating, so it works for two people or a big group. The interior leans into vintage arcade and retro decor, which gives it a fun, slightly dark, nostalgic feel. Evenings are the liveliest stretch, and it gets genuinely busy after 9pm.

Who's there

Locals, regulars and people who love a good arcade cabinet. It's a relaxed, friendly crowd. You can post up for a quiet pint or roll deep for a louder night, and either way you fit right in.

What's great

• The games. Centipede, Dig Dug, Donkey Kong, Frogger, Galaga, Ms. Pac-Man, The Simpsons, Star Wars and more, plus pinball like Monster Bash and Ghostbusters.
• Beer that rotates. Thirteen taps of local, craft and imported, with new draughts added most weeks, so there's always something new.

The music

The bar mostly runs Top 40, which keeps things upbeat without turning into a club. Familiar, easy to talk over early, and lively once the room fills.

There's no cover charge and no guestlist. Get Well runs first-come, first-served, so everybody gets the same shot at a spot. Walk in, grab a beer, find a cabinet.

Age limit

Get Well allows kids during the day, but after 7pm it's a 19+ venue. Before 7, minors need to be with a guardian, with a limit of three minors per guardian. After 7, bring real ID.

Food, drinks & games

Beers run $7.50 to $10.50 and mixed drinks are around $15. The pizza comes from Get Well Pizza right inside the bar. And the arcade is the main event: classics like Centipede, Dig Dug, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Junior, Double Dragon, Frogger, Galaga, The Simpsons, Tapper, Toobin, Ms. Pac-Man and Star Wars, plus pinball machines including Monster Bash and Ghostbusters.
