The Dance Cave is the Annex's late-night room, up the stairs above Lee's Palace on Bloor. Throwbacks, indie and alternative till 3am, a 19+ student-heavy crowd, and a floor that goes off Friday and Saturday. Here's the honest rundown, plus the free guestlist so you skip the line.
The sceneThe Dance Cave is where you go when you want to dance and not think about it. It sits in a century-old building above Lee's Palace, 5,000 square feet of high sloping ceilings, primitive line murals, picnic tables and booths tucked along the floor. It's roomy but it feels close, and once it fills it gets loud and sweaty in the best way.
This isn't a bottle-service palace or a velvet-rope room. It's a real dance club. Throwbacks you forgot you loved, indie, alternative, the kind of set where the whole floor sings the bridge. Bring your people, come to move, and don't overthink the fit.
Quick factsTwo nights, same energy, slightly different crowd. Here's what each weekend looks like.

About 5,000 square feet with high sloping ceilings, line-art murals, recessed booths along the floor and picnic tables that seat six. Roomy but cozy, so you get a real crowd and still find a spot to post up between songs.
Mostly students and a young 19 to 26 crowd. It's a U of T and Annex staple, so expect an unpretentious floor that's there to dance, not to pose. Energy over everything.
The Dance Cave lives on throwbacks, indie and alternative. The DJs read the room and keep it moving, jumping eras and genres, but the constant is a floor that knows every word. It's loud, it's vocal, it's a sing-it-back kind of night.
Dress code is casual here, this is the Annex, not King West. Come comfortable to dance. Just leave the sportswear, jerseys and athletic shoes at home and you're fine.
Entry is free before midnight or with a student ID, then $10 after midnight. The guestlist is your move for a clean entry. Get there before 11, check in under your name at the door, you're in. The list closes at 10pm, and summer lines build early, so do not leave it late.
