The Drink is the Village's go-to for drag: shows every night, Top 40 and throwbacks, thin-crust pizza and drinks that do not empty your wallet. Small, loud and welcoming. Here is the honest rundown, plus how to book a table for your crew.

The scene

What it's actually like

The Drink is a small room on the second floor with a big personality. Drag · Dine · Drag · Dance is the motto, and the place lives up to it. The bar runs the length of one wall, seating lines the sides, and the stage and DJ booth are tight but right for the nightly drag shows. It is a Church-Wellesley staple, beloved by the LGBTQ+ community and anybody who wants a fun, easy night.

This is not a high-gloss bottle-service club. It is casual, friendly and inclusive, more block-party energy than velvet rope. Come for a show, grab a slice and a cocktail, and stay to dance. Theme nights, drink specials and live drag keep every night a little different.

Address & location

The Drink is in the Village at 459 Church St, 2nd floor (M4Y 2C5), just south of Wellesley St E near Church and Wellesley. The entrance leads up a set of stairs to the second-floor room. This is the heart of Church-Wellesley, the city's LGBTQ+ nightlife stretch.

The room

Small and cozy. The space is long and narrow with the bar running along one wall, seating down the sides and some in the middle. Wood floors, mirrors, decor and "The Drink" signage. The stage and DJ booth are compact but built for the kind of drag shows the venue is known for. It is easy to rearrange for different nights.

Who's there

A friendly, welcoming crowd, rooted in the LGBTQ+ community but open to everyone who comes to have a good time. People show up for the drag, the music and the easy, no-pressure vibe. There is also a solid non-alcoholic menu, so it is a good hang whether or not you are drinking.
